Holy Smokes, Two Delaware Trains In One Day!

Drove over to Delmar, Delaware today for Delmarva Model Railroad Club’s open house, where the club’s HO, N, G, and three-rail O layouts were open to the public. Knowing I would be crossing multiple branches of the Delmarva Central, I packed my camera bag.

My preparedness was rewarded not once, but twice in one day as I caught two different MP15-led movements on different branches of the Delmarva Central.

A light (no cars) engine movement of two MP15s just north of Delmar, Delaware. My favorite EMD diesel; the more strapped on nonsense, the better, which is why i enjoy Delmarva Central’s gnarly, offset headlight ex-Southern Pacific MP15s.
My twilight ride back from Delmar was interrupted by an MP15 leading two GP38s at Dagsboro, Delaware, where I have only rarely seen Delmarva Central trains. I am grateful and impressed with the low-light capabilities of modern digital cameras—an image like this would not have been possible on film.
